Member of the Board of Directors
Steffen joined Ferring’s Board of Directors on April 1, 2026, bringing a wealth of international experience from across the healthcare sector. He is Chief Executive Officer of the global specialty pharmaceutical company Advanz Pharma, as well as Chairman of the Board of Develco Pharma and a Supervisory Board Member of Aenova Group. He previously held senior positions at Stada Arzneimittel AG, Biogen, Alcon Pharmaceuticals and Sandoz. His industry experience spans biopharmaceuticals, medical devices, generics and biosimilars, consumer products, and contract development and manufacturing. Steffen began his career as a strategy consultant at Bain & Company and McKinsey & Company. He is a qualified medical doctor with a Ph.D. in Medicine from the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich, Germany.
