Ferring International PharmaScience Centre is looking for a Direcor Medical Device & Packaging for the Pharmaceutical Drug development team within the department Global Pharmaceutical R&D. You will play a key role in defining and further developing Ferring’s ability to deliver exciting and relevant medical devices and packaging against objectives, timings and goals set for Ferring’s late stage development programs and activities. Based on your broad medical device skills and experience and your personal drive and insight you and your team will be responsible for advancing current and future efforts in the device field to support Ferring’s development pipeline and commercial success.
Following a review and analysis of the requirements and direction for this function, you will be able to work with a well-defined mandate and will have freedom with regards to re-directing and/or further developing required systems and procedures and securing commitment and involvement across the organisation and within your team. The Medical Devices and Packaging team currently consist of 2 people.
YOUR EXPECTATIONS
The Director Medical Devices and Packaging’s key responsibilities include
• Helping to secure delivery of overall corporate strategic and business goals consistent with defined milestone objectives.
• Specifically to deliver against current and future projects ensuring delivery of scientifically solid input and recommendations.
• Further developing and building Ferring’s Medical Device and Packaging organisation with the necessary skills and methodology to secure current and future delivery of successful projects.
• Interfacing with key internal and external partners to ensure successful deliverables and partnerships.
• Day-to-day leadership of and professional support and dialogue with team members and colleagues across Ferring.
• Being a key player in the Ferring Pharmaceutical drug development Management Team supporting and driving scientific, strategic and tactical issues such as business plans, status reports, policies and guidelines.
• Organising and controlling team activities to ensure approved plans, programs, capital and expense budgets are achieved.
OUR EXPECTATIONS.
The ideal candidate has at least 2 years experience from the pharmaceutical industry with a M.Sc. in mechanical or chemical engineering, pharmacy or equivalent qualification. Furthermore we expect you to have a minimum of 5 years of experience of medical equipment or devices and preferably scientific skills in polymer chemistry. We also expect you to have experience of GXP regulated work within the pharmaceutical industry and to have experience of and ability to work in a matrix organisation.
You are pro-active, innovative and effective problem solver. You are motivated by and have the ability to motivate people and create results. You have excellent communication skills and you are fluent in English oral and written. Furthermore you should be keen on working in a multicultural and interdisciplinary environment.
