Research and development is conducted at three main sites within the Ferring organistion and in collaboration with academic and medical institutes and other pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies.
Ferring’s research centres
In the 1950’s when Frederik Paulsen started his peptide research all the company’s research activities were located at Ferring AB in Sweden. In 1985 Ferring Research Ltd was founded and in 1987 it moved to the newly established Ferring Research Institute on the Chilworth Science Park close to Southampton, UK. The UK group is specialised in the entire drug discovery cycle focusing on small-molecule therapeutics.
In 1996 Ferring founded the Ferring Research Institute Inc in San Diego, US and transferred peptide research from Sweden to the US. The US group is specialised in target discovery and drug discovery focusing on peptide therapeutics.
Ferring’s Development Organisation
International PharmaScience Center (IPC) in Copenhagen, Denmark co-ordinates the product development stages. All product development activities for the Ferring Group are consolidated here in order to ensure a streamlined and efficient use of resources. First established in 1999, IPC relocated in 2002 to purpose-built, state-of-the-art development facilities and laboratories.
