Early Stage Partnering in Technology

Ferring is seeking opportunities that can be a benefit in its core therapeutic areas:

  • Technology platforms that can support or act in synergy with Ferring’s current research activities.
  • Formulation, drug delivery or device technologies that, in combination with Ferring’s marketed products, can offer products with improved delivery systems providing advantages for the patients.
  • New chemical entities preferably in phase I to II in the areas of inflammatory bowel disease, urology, OBGYN and endocrinology that complement Ferring’s existing products in these therapeutic areas.
  • Technology platforms in the area of recombinant technology.

All evaluations of in-licensing opportunities are based on a match between Ferring and the opportunity. An in-licensing candidate will be reviewed for its fit with Ferring’s licensing strategy and will in addition undergo a general review as follows:

  1. An original product that satisfies a currently unmet medical need.
  2. A product intended for prescription only.
  3. A product initially intended for the specialist area.
  4. At least one indication aimed for Ferring’s core therapeutic areas or adding synergy hereto.
  5. Product compatible with the Ferring image: ‘On the Body’s Own Terms’.
  6. Available for a large territory (at least EU or US + one other territory) and at least for one whole continent.
  7. Exclusive and long term licensing possible.
  8. Intellectual property protection or market exclusivity for at least 4-6 years post launch in the available markets.
