Commercial Partners

The development from a small, research-driven pharmaceutical company in the 1950s into the global mid-sized pharmaceutical company that Ferring is today has been well supported by various commercial partnerships.

Some of Ferring’s key commercial partnerships are:

Aventis has marketed Ferring’s flagship treatment MINIRIN in the US since the 1970s.

The core business of Aventis is prescription drugs, human vaccines and a 50 per cent equity stake in Merial. Aventis has 71,000 employees and was officially founded in 1999 as the result of a merger between Rhône-Poulenc and Hoechst. The company has headquarters in France and the US.

Kyowa Hakko Kogyo is marketing MINIRIN in Japan and the partnership is based on a true long-term collaboration, where Kyowa Hakko is undertaking all development activities for Japan.

Kyowa Hakko specialises in the marketing of innovative pharmaceuticals in varied areas including neuroscience, oncology, immunology and urology. The company was founded in 1949 and today its expertise extends to the United States and the UK.

Nisshin Flour Milling Co. and Nisshin Kyorin are, together with Ferring, working to build a strong reputation for PENTASA in Japan. The partnership started in 1990.

Nisshin Kyorin is a joint venture between Nisshin and Kyorin. The company employs close to 1700 people and was listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange in 2000. In 2003 the company celebrated its 80th anniversary.
