Ferring Germany was founded in Düsseldorf 1956. In 1973 the company relocated to Kiel establishing the first production site outside Scandinavia.

The core competencies of Ferring GmbH include aseptic manufacturing operations, freeze drying and microencapsulation of pharmaceuticals, as well as analytical and microbiological testing of starting materials, intermediates and bulk materials.

From 2003 to 2005, the manufacturing capacities for aseptic freeze drying in vials were expanded. In addition to this, a brand new facility for the production of Nasal Sprays was also opened.

The company is maintaining its certification by EU and international Health Authorities (e.g. US-FDA).
