Within the Ferring family, the Danish manufacturing facility is known as the “PENTASA factory” as its production is devoted to PENTASA with the active ingredient mesalazine. Ferring A/S was formally established by Eva Paulsen, the wife of Ferring's founder, Dr. Frederik Paulsen .

Sales of PENTASA have increased dramatically in recent years. Back in 1986 the consumption of mesalazine was less than 300 kg. Today it has increased to over 200 tons.

The exponential growth has created an ever-increasing demand for additional production capacity. Not only has the factory been reconstructed and expanded, but large annual investments have also been made in new facilities.

Ferring A/S prioritises an enhanced customer service level and works closely with selected partners to increase capacity and ensure supply.
