Ferring GmbH in Germany was founded in Düsseldorf by Dr. Otto Paulsen, the brother of Dr. Frederik Paulsen. In 1973 the company relocated to Kiel establishing the first production site outside Scandinavia.
The core competencies of Ferring GmbH include aseptic manufacturing operations, freeze drying, and microencapsulation of pharmaceuticals, as well as analytical and microbiological testing of starting materials, intermediates and bulk materials.
Currently, the capacities for aseptic freeze drying in vials are being expanded. Approval by the Health Authorities is expected late 2005.
Around 160 employees work in the manufacturing, logistics and quality assurance functions at the production site in Kiel.
Ferring GmbH works in partnership with its suppliers to achieve a sustainable and efficient quality assurance.
